Kara Connect Age Limit & Safeguarding Policy

🛡️ Kara Connect Age Limit Policy (16+)

🚀 Policy Overview

At Kara Connect, the wellbeing and safety of our users is at the core of our mission. To ensure the highest quality of care and maintain strict clinical standards, we have a minimum age limit of 16 years for direct access to our wellbeing and mental health services.

🧐 Why We Have a Minimum Age Limit

Reason Detail
Professional Expertise Our network of specialists is vetted and qualified to work with adults and adolescents (16+).
Supporting children under 16 requires additional specialist training, licensing, and safeguarding frameworks that fall outside the current scope of our services.
Safeguarding Protocols

Working clinically with children involves stricter legal, ethical, and safety protocols, including parental consent structures, specialised intake, mandated reporting pathways, and multi-agency coordination.

Until we have the infrastructure to guarantee these safeguards at scale, we will not open the platform to under-16s.

Global Regulatory Compliance

Kara Connect operates across multiple regulatory environments.

Age restrictions and clinical standards for minors differ by country. Setting a unified minimum age allows us to maintain consistent and safe service delivery across all markets.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 What we do offer: Parental Support

Although we are not providing direct mental health or wellbeing services to children under 16, we actively support parents and caregivers.

Through the Wellbeing Hub, parents can access:

  • Parenting and family-support specialists

  • Guidance on navigating behavioural, emotional, or developmental concerns

  • Coaching for stress, resilience, and family dynamics such as parental alienation and more.

  • Support in communicating with schools, healthcare providers, or community services

  • Psychoeducation on child and adolescent wellbeing
This allows us to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing of families while maintaining safe and appropriate clinical boundaries.

🔮 Future considerations

As Kara Connect continues to grow, we may evaluate expanding into child and youth services - but only once we can ensure the necessary safeguarding structures, specialised professionals, and regulatory compliance required to serve children responsibly.

📝 Summary

To maintain safety, quality, and professional integrity, Kara Connect’s services are and will be available to individuals 16 years and older. We remain committed to supporting families through parental coaching and guidance, without directly providing clinical care to children.
