How to have a Successful Session

This is a summary of the things that can help you to have a successful session

Before you start your session, here are some things that you should be aware of.

Browser

We recommend to use Chrome and to make sure that you're using the latest version of Chrome. You can see which version you are using by selecting Chrome in the top-left corner. There you select About Google Chrome. That will take you to another page which states the version you are using and whether it is up to date, as seen in the picture below:

 

 

Location

Where are you located during your session? Are you out and about on a busy street or have you taken a seat in a café? Better yet, are you at home? Our recommendation is to be somewhere where you are free from distractions and where there are no external noises, such as loud cars or voices.

💡 Note: A calm and quiet environment will help you get the most out of the session and make it a hassle-free experience.

 

Internet speed

Is your internet speed sufficient to have the session in good quality? You can test your speed here to see if it will affect the quality of your session. When we have low internet speed, the video and audio can be negatively impacted.

System requirements

Kara’s video module is built on a WebRTC framework which utilises a peer-to-peer connection. With these types of connections, audio and video data streams are sent directly between two or more user devices. For optimal video experience, it requires a fast internet connection for both participants in the meeting.

 

The minimum bandwidth requirement for video meetings is 500kbit/s for each stream source (video and audio).

 

Kara recommends at least 2.0 Mbps outbound and 2.5 Mbps inbound or higher for high quality video and audio.

 

Kara is fully browser-based. This means that you don’t need to download and update any software. However, you may need to update your browser for optimal experience of Kara. Many browsers update automatically when a new update is released, but you can also check if your browser is up-to-date (typically by clicking Settings -> About in your browser).

 

Are you in the right Session or do you know how to access your session?

If you are a user, client or employee. You where either invited to join a session with a professional or you booked via our Wellbeing Hubs programme with a Professional. In either case you should have:

  • An account with Kara Connect
  • An email invite to join the session with a link
